The implementation of the proposed air train project from Lagarde Airport in New York is uncertain. A 2.1 million project was undertaken to link Queens with City Field by the long-awaited train. The project was canceled by the coalition government last July following a series of lawsuits and litigation. Former Governor Andrew Cuomo described the Lagarde Air Train project as a major step forward in Queens and a major step in communicating communications in New York City.   Link

Kathy Hakul has taken over as the new governor following Andrew Kumar's resignation over allegations of sexual harassment. He says another option is being sought other than the Lagarde Air train to be used in the New York City communications system. According to critics of the project, Manhattan should have been put at the forefront of passenger communications after arriving at a busy airport such as Lagarde Airport. Once the project is underway, passengers from Lagarde airport will have to first head towards Manhattan. Critics say the area opposite the city center cannot be called a modern communications system.

Governor Kathy Haqul said the people of New York wanted world-class connections at their airports. He advised Port Authority officials to look for alternatives to air trains.

In his speech on October 4, Governor Haqul said a high-level communication system should be ensured by adopting other programs. Not only in Lagarde, but also at Queens's JFK airport, he said, adding that he would recommend the project in New York in the future with the same communication system. The Governor called for the adoption of modern communication projects to create jobs and adopt infrastructure  through long term thinking.       CLICK HERE

Rick Cotton, chief executive of the Port Authority, which controls communications at the city's airports, said they thought air trains were the best option. In order to implement this project, no city citizen should be evicted and modern railway communications will ensure passengers reach everywhere in the city. State Governor Kathy Hakul said they were still reviewing the re-evaluation of the project.

Some advise to improve the city bus service as an alternative to air trains and to improve the connectivity of modern bus services in different locations directly at the airport. It is now difficult to get approval from the Department of Environmental Affairs for any construction project in the United States. Projects that, once implemented, have adverse effects on the environment and climate, are not easily reduced. Environmentalists are standing in court with this. Following his inauguration, President Joe Biden directed that these development programs be kept in step with nature.
